Hot Summer Days

Today's advice is based on actual English used by Japanese:
It is very hot every single day. At last, my brain have melted. The air conditioner seem like god. I hope that the air conditioner doesn't get out of order. It is very hot every single day.
  1. この英語は問題ないです。下記は別バージョン
    • Every single day is very hot.
  2. At last, my brain have melted. これは、ちょっと英語のミスがあります。
    • At last, my brain has melted. 「brain」は単数形ですので、「has」にしなければなりません。
  3. The air conditioner seem like god. これは、二つの英語のミスがあります。
    • The air conditioner seemed like God. このトピックは過去形ですので、「seem」ではなくて、「seemed」にしなければなりません。または、「god」はいつも大文字にしなければなりません。
  4. I hope that the air conditioner doesn't get out of order.
    • I hope the air conditioner doesn't break. 「be out of order」は故障中と言う意味です。普通の会話では、「break」の法がいいと思います。

Spell Your Name for Non-Japanese

When telling the spelling of your name in an English conversation, use the rhythm and style of English-speaking people. Remember, don't use the romaji version of your name. Most non-Japanese don't know about romaji, so using the romaji version of your name may sound unnatural to foreign ears. Furthermore, if you spell your name in romaji, it might be difficult for non-Japanese ears to catch.

For example, if your name is Satsuko, then you don't want so say "SA, TSU, KO," but rather, "SAT, SU, KO."
